The Challenge

A prominent local engineering company faced critical challenges with their outdated CCTV system. These issues included:

1. Low Resolution Footage: The existing system provided grainy, low-resolution footage, making it difficult to identify individuals or incidents clearly.
2. Lack of Real-Time Monitoring: Without a dedicated monitor setup, the company couldn’t monitor the premises in real time, posing a security risk.
3. Obsolete Infrastructure: The system relied on outdated Coax Cable technology, limiting upgrades and camera additions.

Our Solution



To address these concerns, Raptor Communications proposed a comprehensive upgrade using state-of-the-art equipment:

1. High-Quality Cameras and NVR: We replaced the old cameras with top-of-the-line Reolink IP cameras for their cost effectiveness and incredible image quality. These cameras offer superior image clarity, advanced features, like built in spotlights for full colour night vision when triggered by a person or vehicle, and reliable performance. Additionally, we installed a Network Video Recorder (NVR) to efficiently manage and store the footage.
2. Modern Network Cable Installation: Our team laid down new network cables to power the cameras and transmit data back to the NVR. Unlike the previous Coax Cable setup, this modern infrastructure allowed seamless integration and scalability.
3. Expanded Storage Capacity: Recognising the importance of retaining historical footage, we added extra hard drives to the NVR. Now, the 25 cameras could capture and store all relevant video data for up to 2 weeks, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
4. Real-Time Monitoring Options:

• Onsite Monitor: A dedicated monitor was set up on-site, enabling staff members to view live footage instantly. Whether monitoring customer interactions or detecting security breaches, the onsite display ensures real-time vigilance.
• Mobile Access: For added flexibility, we configured the system to allow live viewing on mobile devices. Now, the company owner or staff can check the cameras from anywhere, ensuring peace of mind even when they’re away.
